Friday Rock Out - OutKast's "B.O.B."

In honour of its being named the best song of the decade by Pitchfork, we over up this incomparable blast of musical adrenaline to get all of you faithful Blue Jays fans off your back and on your feet.

Uno, dos, tres, it's on: It's the weekend. Have at it.

For those of you interested in some top notch quality baseball, the Canadian National Bantam championships are going on in Vaughn this weekend.

Ontario opened it up by crushing Newfoundland + Labrador 26 - 1!

Such a cop out pick by Pitchfork. Waiting for albums rankings, anyway.

I don't get it...how is that a cop out pick?

These things are totally subjective. That's why they are fun.

Albums? Albums are soooo early '90's.

Don't get me wrong, I like Pitchfork and do use it, but their opinions on hip hop are laughable. They cover the pop rap to try and show that they're diverse or as if they're saying that they don't only like "white people music".

If they actually cared about rap music, they'd be looking into the underground stuff, the independent stuff instead of taking a lazy cursory glance at the scene.

I appreciate their opinions on indie rock, folk, noise, dance-punk, etc, because they do look into the stuff that wouldn't be played on mainstream radio. It just has never translated into their coverage of rap and hip hop.

Again, don't want this to read like just another "Pitchfork and their readers suck" diatribe because I'll be the last to make one, but I find their coverage of rap specifically to flawed at best and disingenuous at worst.

(Of course, the whole idea of ranking the top 500 of anything is silly to me. I'd honestly prefer a top 10 with a nice hefty writeup for each pick.)
